African Inspired Ornament – Perseverance

This colorful African inspired ornament is perfect for Christmas or Kwanzaa. It is comprised of two layers of 1/8” MDF hardboard, is painted in Pan African colors and comes with a satin bow, beads, and a hanging cord.
These ornaments are made to order, so if you wish to have a different color scheme, or do not want them painted, please let me know.
Adinkra symbols are widespread throughout Ghana. They are representations of beliefs and ideals held by the Asante (also known as Ashanti) people of Ghana. These symbols have historical and philosophical significance and were originally printed on cloth which Asante royals wore on important occasions. Since its origins of appearing on cloth, adinkra symbols are now often seen on sculptures, buildings, and furniture, among others. Each symbol represents a unique value and is used in giving advice and imparting morals.

Literal Meaning: Seed of the wawa tree
Symbolic Meaning: Hardiness, Toughness and Perseverance
The seed of the wawa tree is extremely hard. In Akan culture, it is a symbol of someone who is strong and tough. It inspires the individual to persevere through hardship.
